Hosted by Research Institute of Wood Industry in Chiese Acedemy of Forestry and Dongguan''s Science and Technology Bureau, and organised by Famous Furniture Club and Dongguan¡¯s R&D Institute of Famous Furniture, an exhibition on bamboo furniture and bamboo application came to a grand opening in District E at Hall 2 on March 16th. With the assistance of 3F, a pioneer in furniture industry, the purpose of the exhibition is to integrate with globlal low-carbon economy, make use of resources in the industry and promote the latest technologies in utilizing materials so that wood can be replaced by bamboo in furniture production and a more environmental-friendly industry can be constructed.

In the opening ceremony, Wu Meiliang, Deputy Chief of Dongguan''s Science and Technology Bureau and Professor Yu Wenji, Chief Expert in Research Institute of Wood Industry in Chinese Academy of Forestry made passionate speeches expressing optimistic views on prospects of bamboo furniture and governmental support for green industry.

Concurrent with the ceremony, Eiri Iwakura''s design collection over the past 35 years are on display in the Design Space in District E at Hall 2.
